Missouri's Staffed MDC Archery Ranges Compared: Andy Dalton, Busch, Jay Henges, Lake City, Parma Woods
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) runs staffed shooting range and outdoor education centers around St. Louis, Kansas City and Springfield. All five below include an archery range. What stands out
- Lake City (Jackson County) has the most detailed archery listing: a static range with 12 shooting positions from 10 to 60 yards, and MDC says the area supports field tips, broadheads and crossbows. It charges $5 per person per hour, cash only, first hour paid in advance.
- August A. Busch (Defiance) lists a static archery range with an elevated shooting tower and broadhead pits, which suits hunters practising from height. MDC's page as captured did not state an archery fee, so we show it as unknown.
- Andy Dalton (Ash Grove, near Springfield) lists 3-D/static archery at $5.00 per person, cash or check only.
- Jay Henges (St. Louis County) charges $5.00 per person on its static archery range. Per MDC it is closed Monday–Tuesday, open Wednesday 1:00–7:30 p.m. and Thursday–Sunday 10:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Parma Woods (Platte County) charges $5 per hour per shooter. MDC posted that Route FF is closed June 1 to Nov. 1 for improvements, which affects access.
- Several centers take cash or check only, so bring cash.
